Who are Cub Scouts?

Cub Scouts are boys and girls ranging from kindergarten through the 5th grade. Cub Scouting is co-ed, family-oriented, and open to students of all abilities whether you are homeschooled, attend public school district, or attend private school. You are not required to reside in Chehalis to participate!

When does Pack 9301 meet?

Chehalis Cub Scouts Pack 9301 meets weekly on Wednesdays at 5:30pm during the school year at our historic Chehalis Scout Lodge on Adams Avenue in Chehalis, Washington.

What's a meeting like?

For Chehalis Cub Scouts, we open our meetings at approximately 5:30pm with flag ceremonies and announcements. Then, we release Cub Scouts to their grade-level Den group to complete activities with a registered Den Leader. We follow activities as outlined in our grade-level Cub Scout Handbooks.

What's the required uniform?

Our Chehalis Cub Scout Pack requires a Cub Scout shirt, neckerchief, and Cub Scout Handbook. Official uniform pants and hats are optional. Before you purchase any uniform items, please ask about the available selection of shirts and other items in our Cub Closet.

What's the time committment?

We meet weekly on Wednesday and have outings at other locations — for education and service projects — 1-2 times per month on those Wednesdays. We also often have at least one weekend activity per month. Keep in mind that many merit badges can also be completed at home for Cub Scout participants with competing or seasonal activities throughout the year.

Are there opportunities for adults?

Yes! We are always looking for den leaders, committee members, and event help. Additionally, Scouting offers learning opportunities for every level of your family — including adults! Many former Chehalis Scouts have gone on to earn things like their Wood Badge or become a member of the Order of the Arrow.

Who leads Chehalis Cub Scouts?

Chehalis Cub Scout Pack 9301 program is led by our Cub Scoutmaster, Assistant Cub Scoutmaster, and Den Leaders. And our organization is governed by our Cub Scout Committee, as outlined by Scouting America's recommended structure. All leaders with Chehalis Cub Scouts have completed required training and maintain annual Safeguarding Youth requirements that include background checks and annual certification by our local council (Pacific Harbors Council) and all adult leaders are subject to approval by our charter organization.
